Prescription Cartoons

Prescription Cartoons is a Nurse Practitioner, ICU RN, and adjunct professor in New York with 10+ years in the hospital setting. Their hospital was one of the first in the nation to be affected by the pandemic and at one point had over 300 COVID-positive patients. Since the beginning of the pandemic, they have been deployed to the COVID ICU, have worked with The Department of Homeland Security, The National Guard, DOH, and DEC at a state run COVID testing site, as well as at a state-run vaccine site. Growing up, their stress relief came from playing sports and going to the gym but once the gyms closed, they found themselves on social media more than ever. After stumbling upon other artists online, they started an Instagram account, and posted their first drawing in December 2020. Not having drawn in over 12 years, never one portrait, and never digital, they weren't sure how the experiment would go. Quickly gaining a following, their drawings resonated with others facing similar challenges during the pandemic.
