Marcial Aguilar’s experiences in El Salvador and the U.S

 Itzel Aguilar interviews her father, Marcial Aguilar, about his life in El Salvador and him immigrating to the U.S. This testimonio explores Marcial’s economic status, the linguistic difficulties he faced once he came to the U.S., opportunities, and gender roles in both El Salvador and the U.S. Marcial also discusses his firsthand experience with the 1986 San Salvador Earthquake, that had a magnitude of 5.7 and caused considerable damage to El Salvador’s capital and surrounding areas.
